About Dufour Yachts

DufourMichel Dufour, an engineer with a love of sailing, founded his shipyard in La Rochelle, France back in 1964. Legendary models like the Arpege, with over 1,500 units built, paved the way for Dufour’s success over the past 45 years. Currently, Dufour Yachts is at the forefront of building technologically advanced yachts, designed to high, almost semi-custom standards while maintaining production prices.

The Grand’ Large Series of Performance Cruisers begins with the 325 and culminates with the Flagship 525. The 485 and 525 are in a sub-class of what Dufour refers to as the Premiere Series. From the crisp styling of the cabin top and the expansive foredeck to the large aft decks, these yachts have the volume required for extensive live-aboard and far reaching cruising capabilities. Allowances have been made to accommodate all the systems required for long term luxury living.

The Performance Series begins with the new 34E which is an extremely fast but easily sailed cruiser/racer. It is built to the exact same specifications as the new Performance 45. In between these two models Dufour offers the Grand Prix capable Dufour 40+. The Performance Series yachts are built using foam core/vacuum bagged hulls for stiffness while remaining light. Harken running gear is used for smooth control of all lines and halyards. The Performance Series yachts can be ordered with all the deck gear needed to compete at high level regattas and yet come standard with complete and luxurious wood interiors that belie their racing pedigree.
